Our expertise in information systems
The master plan is the result of a strategic planning process. It ensures consistency between IT goals, development strategies and the policy for mobilizing organizational, technological, human and financial resources. A true steering tool, it defines both the raison d'être and the objectives to be achieved through an operation aimed at medium and long-term anticipation, prospecting and strategic planning.
We have piloted the development of the SDSI of the Ministry of Health in Togo, the hospital in Mopti, and some hospitals of the Ministry of Health in Burkina Faso.
E-health (or digital health or digital health information) is the application of information and communication technologies to health. It concerns several complementary fields:
- All the varied and diversified information systems (m-health, robotics, connected objects in health...) in the health field. It integrates all the methods and technologies of exploitation and analysis of data collected from information systems.
- Telehealth, which includes telemedicine (remote monitoring, teleconsultation, tele-expertise, remote assistance) and teleservices (implementation of assistance and vigilance solutions for monitoring frail people and for compensating for loss of autonomy).
For more than 5 years we have been teaching this module in Burkina Faso (public and private universities) and in Mali (private university).
The health information system (HIS) is a system made up of actors, tools and methods that interact at different stages of the process of producing health information, which are the collection of individual or primary data; the aggregation, storage, sharing and analysis of data.
It provides ways to document, on a regular basis, what happens at the point of contact between the health system, its clients, and the communities it is intended to serve.
For more than 5 years we have been providing this module in Burkina Faso (public and private universities).
It is the set of steps allowing to search, identify and find documents related to a subject by developing a research strategy. In a context of information overload (infobesity) and diversity of its supports, the processes of documentary research and validation of information require the application of an effective methodology.
It is a step that consists in finding specific sources in order to learn about a subject, answer a research question or carry out a scientific work.
Students from public universities and the National School of Public Health (ENSP) have been benefiting from our teaching on this topic for several years.
The hospital information system (HIS) provides an essential function for the smooth running of the hospital.
The HIS improves the quality of care (optimizing patient care); facilitates communication, regular patient follow-up, and the security of collected information; improves the time required for administrative and health procedures; and controls the hospital's operating costs.
It is a tool for producing and using quality health information for appropriate decision-making.
We piloted the development of the HIS repository for the hospitals of the Ministry of Health of Burkina Faso.
The creation of a database goes through different steps and methodologies that ensure its compliance and efficiency.
Our expertise consists in guiding the beneficiaries through the following phases: Analysis of the existing situation and needs (clarification); creation of a conceptual model (representation of all important aspects of the problem), its translation into a logical model (and standardization of this logical model); and implementation of a database in a DBMS.
We have over ten (10) years of experience in the creation and management of dynamic health databases.
